Silence...

Sshh... This is the word we have heard from our teachers right from our KG classes. We have seen this written in hospitals to create a peaceful atmosphere. In temples, sea-shores, and in green woods we find a sort of divine silence. "Unheard melodies are sweeter than heard melodies," says the Romantic poet Keats. Unspoken words at times have more meaning than the uttered words...

Silence...
Thousand words to speak,
Voice never reaches its peak.
Like sprouts of the bean,
They are hidden inside, keen.
Every time I prove to be meek,
Simply stopping them from leak.
Desire to speak starts to wean.
Weightful thoughts seem to be lean.
Each word pecks me with its beak,
Hardening my heart to the extent of a teak.
Instead of getting into pell-mell,
patiently coining my shell.
Yes, Silence has lots to tell!
Which mere words fail to spell!
