Poetry and Poetic Genius.

How a poem should be? Keats has a beautiful explanation for this Query. He says "Poetry should surprise by a fine excess and not by singularity. It should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance. Its touches of beauty should never be halfway thereby making the reader breathless instead of content: the rise, the progress, the setting of the imagery should like the sun come naturally to him - Shine over him and set soberly although in magnificence leaving him in the luxury of twilight".
Coleridge speaks of Poetic Genius in his own poetic way. He assures that "GOOD SENSE is the BODY of poetic genius, FANCY its DRAPERY, MOTION its LIFE, and IMAGINATION the SOUL that is everywhere, and in each; and forms all into one graceful and intelligent whole".

I don't know whether I am fulfilling the above-said qualities of a poem declared by the great poets...I have tried one today wondering the waves...

Waves
Hands of waves gently entered,
Into the countless sands of the sea.
I am an Artist, said the waves centered.
Shining faraway sun peeped to see!
Waves artfully painted an art,
Rubbing the names of doomed men.
Clouds applauded from the sky's heart!
Rainbow greeted with her lovely pen!
Waves roared to and fro,
Found a rock near, lifting their brow.
I am a Purifier,  said the wave clear.
Pebbles heard it pleasant in their ear!
Waves scoured the rocks raising like a tower,
Showing the world its eternal Power.
